Terms and conditions governing membership in the Ham Lab Alliance, a program of Microwave Analytics.

These Membership Terms (the “Terms”) govern participation in the Ham Lab Alliance (the “Alliance”), a program of Thurston Laboratories, LLC, operating as Microwave Analytics (“Microwave Analytics,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By checking the acceptance box on the membership application form, applying for membership, or paying membership dues, you agree to these Terms.
Alliance membership is entirely optional. Any amateur operator or club may submit equipment for testing at standard ham rates without joining the Alliance. Membership provides additional benefits as published; it does not restrict open-access testing.
Current published tiers include Individual Membership at $199 per year and Club Membership at $599 per year. Benefits may include, as applicable to the tier: a membership certificate; welcome swag; complimentary tests within annual quotas (one free test per year for Individual; up to five free tests per year for Club); twenty percent (20%) off additional qualifying amateur testing; and member or club badges on leaderboards. Benefit details on Alliance marketing pages describe the then-current offering and may be updated prospectively.
Submitting an application does not by itself create an active membership. Microwave Analytics staff review applications to confirm eligibility. Membership dues are due upon signing up. Membership becomes active when payment is confirmed by Microwave Analytics and you are notified of active status, unless staff specify another start date.
Membership is for a one-year term beginning on the activation date. Renewal is not automatic. Microwave Analytics will send renewal notices at least thirty (30) days before membership expires. To continue benefits after the term ends, you must renew and pay for a new term. Unused complimentary tests and other unused benefits expire at the end of the term and do not roll over unless Microwave Analytics expressly states otherwise in writing.
Membership fees are generally non-refundable after payment is confirmed, except where required by law or where Microwave Analytics, in its discretion, issues a partial or full refund for an unused portion of a term. Complimentary test quotas have no cash value.
Free-test quotas and discounts apply only to qualifying amateur radio DUT engagements under Microwave Analytics’ amateur program and while membership is active and in good standing. Discounts do not apply to commercial engagements. Shipping is excluded from prices unless otherwise arranged. Scheduling of complimentary tests is subject to laboratory availability.
Club membership is held by the club (or designated club representative) named on the application. The club is responsible for identifying members eligible for club discounts and for ensuring that club complimentary tests are used consistent with these Terms. Microwave Analytics may require reasonable verification of club affiliation.
Member and club badges, certificates, and leaderboard presentation are recognition features of the program. Microwave Analytics may modify display formats and may revoke badges or public recognition for misuse, false representation, or violation of these Terms. Public display of test results remains subject to the Amateur Radio DUT Engagement Terms and any applicable public opt-in.
All laboratory testing performed in connection with Alliance benefits remains governed by the Amateur Radio DUT Engagement Terms. For active members in good standing, invoices and reports for qualifying amateur testing are sent once testing is completed; members are not required to pay for that testing before receiving reports. Membership does not change the engineering nature of the laboratory’s work or convert results into accredited certification.
Microwave Analytics may suspend or terminate membership for material breach of these Terms, fraud, abuse of complimentary tests or discounts, unsafe or misrepresented DUT submissions, or conduct that harms the program or laboratory. Upon termination for cause, unused benefits are forfeited without refund except as required by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Microwave Analytics’ total liability arising out of or related to Alliance membership shall not exceed the membership fees actually paid for the then-current term. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from membership, benefits, or recognition features.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada. Exclusive venue for disputes shall be the state or federal courts located in Elko County, Nevada.
Microwave Analytics may update these Terms or published benefit descriptions by posting revisions with a new effective date. Material changes apply to renewals and new memberships accepted after the new effective date. Questions may be directed to info@microwaveanalytics.com.
